Serbia has connected West with East for centuries – a land in which civilizations, cultures, faiths, climates and landscapes meet and mingle. Many times during its rich, centuries-long history, Serbia has been at the center of Europe’s and the world’s attention. As a strategic region of the world that is recovering from the aftermath of civil war, Serbia provides opportunities for visitors to open their minds to a wonderful new world of history, culture, and experience. Modern Serbia is democratic European country, on the path to membership of the European Union, which hosts a diverse range of visitors every day. Serbia is generally perceived as being a land of “warm hearted people” where hospitability and catering to the guests is of central importance. World Travel Guide in 2010 marked Serbia as one of the Eastern European Hotspots and The NY Times Style Magazine named Belgrade (the capital of Serbia) the Europe's Latest Urban Success Story in 2013.
